Guys! It's not only the start of a great weekend tomorrow but I'm also on holiday until the 5th of June! Aaaaaaand tomorrow is officially my LAST DAY at View Creative! Whoop whoop!
I guess you've figured it out just by the title, but I sooo need these holidays. I've been working like crazy, which is amazing and I'm so glad I got to work on some fun projects, but you always feel at one point that you need a good break from it all to come back all energised and ready to rock.
So after celebrating a friend's wedding in Chester Zoo Saturday night, we're off to Munich on Sunday morning! How exciting! Because we didn't want to be staying in a big city again, we opted for a charming chalet in Fussen, really close to the Austrian border and the famous fairytale castle.

Out and About
As much as we enjoy working during the weekend, we also like to take a break whenever we can, and even more when the weather decides to be nice (which is rare)!
With Chester only 45 minutes away, we hopped in the car and spent the afternoon there, walking around the town walls and having snacks when we felt like it. We also stopped at a great pub called The Brewery Tap on Lower Bridge Street. Great cider, and great beer! Jason didn't have to force himself at all to finish his pint. Also, loved the room we were in! It looks small and dark from the outside, but you get a great surprise when entering this vast room with high ceiling and big windows to let as much light in as possible.
Although I've had unfortunate adventures with squirrels (one of them actually jumped on my leg a couple of years ago!), we always enjoy catching a glimpse of them whilst walking around Grosvenor Park. And I can never get enough of the Roman ruins just outside the walls!
Here's to hoping that the weather gets better soon. I miss those sunny days ;)

Take me to the Beach
Last one, I promise! I took so many photos during the short holidays that we had with my brother, I just couldn't leave them like that and had to share one of the last days we had with Thomas. Plus, it makes me happy to go through them all again and realise how much he's grown. He's not so little anymore and I feel like I've lost so many precious years with him that seeing him for a few days made me feel like I finally managed to catch up with him properly. See what I mean?
It was a Sunday, it was sunny and we were at Jason's parents over on Anglesey, so we decided to go to Newborough and enjoy a long walk on Llanddwyn beach. I always enjoy walking all the way to the lighthouse on the island and we always say hi to the sweet little ponies! It was one of those days that made me wish it was summer and really warm and I could just jump in the sea without worrying of dying from a thermal shock.
You can see a little glimpse of the last day with Thomas in my Instagram snaps actually! We surprised him and woke him up early to go to Alton Towers. Such a great day! Even though Jason was feeling a bit rough at the end of the day, my brother made sure to do as many of the rides as he could right up to the end and he could not believe how great the rollercoasters were. I didn't take my camera with me because I didn't want to worry about it whilst I'm enjoying the rides, and for most of the rollercoasters, you need to leave your bags on the side before going on them. And by the way, Galactica (previously Air), is really really cool :)
Onto the next adventure! (Bavaria is in a few weeks now... Exciting!)

Portfolio Update - Golf Club de Lausanne
I can finally share with you this little project I worked on a couple of months ago! It's been very exciting to get new clients coming to me and I've loved the whole process of working on new freelance projects. It's also a bit more scary as everything is on your shoulders but then I feel a lot more satisfied when the project is finalised and out there.
Lausanne's Golf Club, based in Switzerland, approached me to create a new logo and illustrative poster for their opening night after seeing the illustration I did for Visit Llandudno's cover. However, because we wanted to represent a party happening in the evening with a disco band as the main entertainment, it was clear that I needed to steer it in another direction, including a touch of glamour. Et voilĂ !
You can see more of it on my website right here :)
Have a nice evening guys!

Exciting news + a Giveaway!
Happy 1st of May!
For this month's wallpapers, I wanted to create an artwork that represents all the creativity and freedom I've been experiencing lately. I created the painted background with no idea in mind, I literally took the brush and the colours I felt like using and BOOM, that happened. Sometimes I paint freely and it looks rubbish, which means that I'll actually never use the artwork for anything, but sometimes it turns out right.
For the message, I got inspired by the books I've been reading lately: #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso and Leave Your Mark by Aliza Licht. These two women and their very particular lives really opened my eyes about confidence and self-discovery. I felt so empowered after reading these books that it gave me the boost I really needed right now. Even though I feel I'm in a much better place than I was 5 years ago, it's always good to stop for a minute and try to focus on how you feel about yourself and what you want in the future. Discovering myself and what I want to do with my life is basically what I've been doing since the beginning of the year and this is where the announcement makes its appearance (drum roll)...
I'm going freelance full-time next month!!! Exciting and scary at the same time, but it's just the perfect moment for me to take the plunge and I can't wait to start a career for myself. I've been working on various freelance projects lately that made me realise that this is what I want to do with my life and what feels right for me. So after almost 5 years at View Creative, I'm now going solo... And it feels good!
So if you need any motivation for your next projects or plans in your life, download these wallpapers and get moving!
